100 million people worldwide rely on cotton for their income.
Cheaper and faster fashion has pushed prices down and increased pesticide use causing ill-health and death amongst farmers. Fairtrade cotton guarantees small-scale cotton farmers in developing countries a living wage, a social premium to benefit the whole community (for schools, healthcare etc), and environmental and health and safety protection.
The Certified Cotton FAIRTRADE Mark is an independent consumer label which acts as a guarantee to consumers that the goods they buy have a direct benefit to the farmer who produced them.
